Frequently Asked Questions

What is Safe Travels CFAR?

Safe Travels CFAR is a flexible cancellation service that helps refund a portion of your prepaid, non-refundable trip costs if you need to cancel your trip for a reason not covered by traditional travel insurance. This service is designed to work alongside your travel insurance plan for added flexibility and peace of mind.

How is CFAR different from regular travel insurance?

Most travel insurance plans only cover trip cancellations for specific listed reasons, like illness, injury, or severe weather. Safe Travels CFAR gives you added flexibility by allowing you to cancel your trip for any reason and still receive reimbursement for eligible non-refundable trip costs. Examples could include: • A change in plans • Work obligations • Family or personal reasons • Deciding you no longer want to travel • A travel companion cancelling

How much can I get refunded?

Safe Travels CFAR can refund up to 75% of your eligible non-refundable trip costs that cannot be recovered elsewhere, such as from an airline, hotel, cruise line, or travel insurance provider. Example: If you prepaid $4,000 for a trip and could not recover any of those costs elsewhere, you could receive up to $3,000 back through CFAR.

Is there a deductible?

No. There is no separate deductible. However, Safe Travels CFAR reimburses up to 75% of eligible non-refundable trip costs, meaning the remaining 25% is not covered.

When do I need to purchase Safe Travels CFAR?

To be eligible, Safe Travels CFAR must be purchased within 21 days of your initial trip deposit, at least 30 days before your scheduled departure date, and within 24 months of your planned travel date.

When do I need to cancel my trip to use CFAR?

You must cancel your trip at least 48 hours before your scheduled departure date. Cancellations made within 48 hours of departure are not eligible for refunds.

What happens if I receive a refund or travel credit from my supplier?

Safe Travels CFAR refunds eligible non-refundable trip costs that cannot be recovered elsewhere. Any refunds, credits, or vouchers received from airlines, hotels, cruise lines, or other travel suppliers will be deducted from your refund amount.

Is Safe Travels CFAR travel insurance?

No. Safe Travels CFAR is a cancellation service, not an insurance policy. It is designed to work alongside travel insurance by providing reimbursement for eligible non-refundable trip costs when you cancel your trip for a reason that may not be covered under a traditional travel insurance plan.

Important:

Safe Travels CFAR™ is not an insurance policy, nor is it a replacement for standard travel insurance. It is a cancellation service provided by SureGo Assist.
